  • when making an appointment: surname, first name, date of birth, contact details, reason for consultation, possibly basic medical data depending on your situation (medical history, current treatment);

  • technical browsing data (IP address, browser type, page viewed, cookies accepted) if you use the practice's website.

 

The purposes of this processing are:

  • to enable the management of contact and appointment requests;

  • to provide medical care, orthopaedic/spinal follow-up, and preparation for consultations or procedures;

  • to ensure the proper administration of the practice (invoicing, VAT, legal obligations);

  • to improve the user experience of the website (to the extent of processing cookies and browsing data).

3. Legal basis for processing

  • The processing of data related to medical record management and treatment is necessary for the performance of a medical procedure and complies with Belgian legislation on patient rights. 

  • For cookies and browsing data, the user's consent is required.

  • The contact/appointment form is based on the consent of the individual or on the legitimate interest of the practice in responding to your request.

4. Data sharing

5. Data retention period

  • The data contained in your medical file is kept for the period stipulated by Belgian law (e.g. approximately 30 years after your last consultation) depending on the type of establishment.

  • Contact details/cookies/browsing data are kept for a reasonable period of time, depending on the purpose (e.g. appointment management, statistics), and are then deleted or anonymised.

6. Your rights

As a patient/visitor, you have the following rights:

  • right of access: you can obtain a copy of the data we process about you.

  • right of rectification: you can request the correction of inaccurate data.

  • right of deletion (erasure) under certain conditions;

  • right to object: you can object to certain processing operations, in particular those based on legitimate interest;

  • right to restriction of processing;

  • right to data portability, where applicable.
